Proposal
T1 - Common Holly (Ilex aquifolium) Reduce crown on the top and road side by approximately 2.5m. Reason is to balance the crown after removing T2 T2 - Common Holly (Ilex aquifolium) Fell. T2 and T1 are growing in extremely close proximity, T1 is a much better specimen with a single stem, where as T2 has multiple close stems. T2 and T1 are very dominating of the front of the property and we would like to favor T1 for the future. T3 - Common Lime (Tilia x europaea) Fell. Over mature lime with large cavity at 1.5m extending 2m up the stem. Tree has two main stems, one of which is over a considerable stone barn. This stem has a large crack leading up from the cavity which has been caused by the tear out of a large limb in the past. The tree also comprises of a large compression fork, this taken into account, cupboard door failure is highly possible There are signs of brown rot in the cavity. I believe the tree is prone to failure in the near future. with the fore sight of saving the barn i believe felling and replacing with another common lime is the most practical solution. T4 - White Poplar (Populus alba) Fell. Over mature large poplar situated behind stone barn. Multiple limb failure on all sides, some limbs are rested on barn roof, many tear out scars. Excessive reaction growth around buttress. Ganoderma adspersum fruiting body at buttress, possibility of wind throw in the future. Fell and replant with a more suitibale species for the river side location, possibly Alder.
