The aim is to make the tree safe as it overhangs the footpath into the churchyard Some of these overhanging branches have broken off in the recent past causing a hazard to pedestrians. Pruning will also reduce stress on the primary faulted union and generally improve the form of the tree. Ivy will also be removed from the crown. T2 x Mature Lime tree - Remove dominant basal stem growing up through the crown and clear crown of overcrowded epicormic growth to improve light and airflow and visual appearance of the tree.
