I refer to the above-mentioned planning appeal and your letter dated 29 December 2011, requesting a postponement of the Local Inquiry due to open on 28 February 2012.

Your request together with the views of the Appellants Agent were referred to Ben Linscott , Assistant Director (Planning) ..

 Having considered the matter no reason can be seen as to why the emergence of changed housing land availability data justifies the inquiry being postponed at this time.

If what your Local Planning Authority expects to become available does not materialise and / or the Inspector concludes at the opening of the Inquiry that the position is such that s/he may not be able to proceed, s/he would consider at that time whether or not to adjourn the Inquiry.

In the meantime we have we have agreed to extend the deadline for the submission of a Statement Of Common Ground until 1 February 2012 and also extend the deadline for the submission of Proofs of Evidence to 14 February 2012.

The Appellants Agents have also been copied in on this e-mail.
