Dear Mr. Lewis,

 

I would like to object to the planning application received by Cherwell District Council to change the Bishops Blaize Public House into a private Dwelling.

 

This would result in the permanent loss of a much loved facility in the village of Burdrop, which was used by people from all around the area. Part of the council’s responsibility is to ensure the viability of village life and it should protect the few businesses remaining in rural areas. I note the applicant has indicated on his application form there would be no loss of jobs, I think this is misleading, before he chose to close the pub it did employ a number of staff.
