Comments: Dear Mr Lewis In response to the application for change of use of the Bishop Blaize public house to a private dwelling: I would like to object in the strongest possible terms to the de-licensing of these premises. Despite what the husband of the owner says in his highly libellous 15 page statement that accompanied his planning application, there was a great deal of interest in purchasing the premises to continue as a viable business both at the time the pub was going up for auction and when it was first put on the market just a few months after it was purchased by the current owner. At the time of the auction there were over twenty different parties interested in purchasing the premises and all wanted to re open it as a public house. At the time of it going on the market after the first few months of it being purchased, there were several interested parties and offers of the asking price and above were offered and all refused. I know for fact of one offer for £80,000 more than the current owners paid for the premises, less than a year after it was purchased. The person that offered this amount is willing to put this in writing if requested by the council and indeed would still like to purchase the premises at its current market value and re open it as a public house. It is obvious from all the objections that you have received that the feeling in the local community is set against the pub ever being allowed to be de-licensed. This pub was indeed the heart of our village community and people travelled from far and wide to enjoy the beer, food and warm friendly atmosphere. There is no doubt that the spirit and heart of our village has been torn apart by the closure of our lovely pub and I hope the council will see sense and deny this application and hopefully our much loved pub can be restored to its former glory. Yours Sincerely Nigel Bryan PublicAccess for Planning. (c) CAPS Solutions Ltd.
