Comments: As a recent arrival to the village in 2007, which we decided to move to based on it having a sense of community provided by its existing services such as Schools, Post Office and Village Pubs. We were therefore very disappointed to find out what had happened to the Bishops Blaize when we moved into the village to find this pub was now closed. It seems to me a very sad story, how an individuals greed has so far been successful in spoiling the potential enjoyment and sense of community that can be provided by a well run Public house in a village, which I have seen in many of the surrounding villages. For me this is exactly what planning law is in place for - to stop speculators hell bent on making a quick profit for themselves, from spoiling the environment/community of the many. The many who will be living there with the consequences long after these profiteers have moved on to destroy the amenities of next village. I would therefore like to register my strong objection to this planning application as I believe if the Bishop Blaize was re-opened under decent management it would once again become a thriving business for someone and also provide a focus for the communities of Burdrop and the Sibfords.
