Subject: Bishop Blaize 09/01557

Dear Mr Lewis, I recently submitted a comment on the application for change of use for the Bishop Blaize public house (09/01557) On further consideration, I think that the use of the word 'pretense' in the second sentence may have been unwise. I also realised that I wrote Burdrop/Ferrises, when I meant Burdrop/Sibfords.

Is it possible for you to remove the existing comment (dated 2/12) and substitute the following?

This planning application is a cynical and antisocial attempt to rob the village

community of a pub which was much-loved, and is now sorely missed. The suggestion

that the Blaize was not a sustainable business is offered as justification for a

course of action that would benefit only one person, whose short-term gain must

be weighed against the disastrous, long-term effects on the whole of the

Burdrop/Sibfords community. The Bishop Blaize was a popular and thriving pub,

and there is no reason why it should not be so again. I feel very

strongly that the District Council should do everything it can to prevent

its being de-licensed, and to ensure that it cannot be sold as a private

residence.
