Case Officer: Shona King Customer Details ---------------- Name: Nigel Bryan Address: 6 Cotswold Close Sibford Ferris Oxfordshire Postcode: OX15 5QP Comments -------- Submission Type: Customer objects to the Planning Application. Comments: Dear Sirs I would like to object to the proposed development at the Bishop Blaize Inn, Burdrop, Sibford Gower ref 09/01275/F. The reasons I am giving are: It is well known that bats are present in the barn that they are trying to develop. The application states that there are no bats present! So, I would hope an investigation would be carried out to explore what has happened to them if they are no longer there after many many years of inhabiting the barn. The plans submitted are of very poor quality and do not explain correctly how access to the upper floor would be gained without going through other bedrooms. Would this also be the route used as a fire escape? Also there is no disabled access shown anywhere. There is a telegraph pole situated where the proposed development would be but it is not shown on the plans. The central heating oil tank would need to be re-situated and no site is shown for that or for the storage of the refuse bins. There are no disabled parking spaces shown on the plans and the parking spaces that are shown are very narrow and larger type vehicles like four wheel drive vehicles would not fit in the spaces shown. The ground floor plan of the building does not show a bar in the pub area. This would indicate that there are no intentions of opening it again as a drinking establishment so change of use would be needed to use this area for any other business. The proposed extension looks to be substantially higher than the rest of the Bishop Blaize and would look out of place and aesthetically wrong in this conservation area. The proposed extension will absorb 4 car parking spaces and generate the need for 4 more spaces if permission is granted, there is no obvious provision for these in the current plans. why not? The barn is part of licensed premises and as such is used for storage of bottles and barrels etc. If this storage is removed there is nowhere else inside The Bishop Blaize that could be used for storage of these items. The applicant should be asked where he intends to store the aforementioned. Yours Sincerely N P Bryan PublicAccess for Planning. (c) CAPS Solutions Ltd.
