As a very long term Cropredy resident I would like to object in the strongest possible terms to the proposed development of this site. The area that straddles the main road between Gt Bourton and Cropredy has tradionally been used for predominantly agriculatural purposes and has therefore always been an attractive green area between the two villages. I believe that this situation should be maintained. Access and egress from the proposed site would add to an already unaceptable traffic scenario for this road which is already heavy with traffic (which is mostly moving at unacceptable speeds) and in the close vicinity of Cropredy Village school.
I have many reservations concerning the environmental impact of this application and am deeply concerned at the apparent retrospective nature of this planning application. In rural areas of the UK it is now becoming the norm for such applications to be made retrospectively thus showing a complete disregard for established planning rules. I also strongly believe that many of these applications when succesful can, be used for establishing a building footprint which can in the future be converted into domestic premises.
The area subject to this proposal is clearly not suitable for any of the stated purposes the site should therefore be returned to its original state and the application should be rejected.
