FOR THE ATTENTION OF CAROLINE ROCHE

We wish to object to the proposed development of this site as set out in application 09/00478/F. In our opinion the impact upon the environment is to the detriment of the area turning centuries of agricultural use into an environmental eyesore.

The applicant has submitted details of a Klargester waste unit but has actually installed a metal heating oil tank as a cesspit and installed this on land already prone to flooding. In addition he has infilled the ancient ridge and furrow field pattern in parts simply with builders rubble. The impact upon the drainage of this site will be disastrous; this is an area prone to flooding and water running off the field gathers in the brook by the school in Cropredy, an area which suffers serious flooding whenever there is a significant downpour. The work on this field will only exacerbate an already serious situation.

We are aware that planning permission is not required for up to five caravans but Great Bourton already has an excellent caravan park and there is little reason for this development and we urge you to turn down the application for caravan pitches and road access across the site. The visual impact upon the environment is horrendous and we also fear for the safety of road users if caravans are allowed to negotiate through the narrow entrance from a busy road used as a rat run between the A 361 and A 423 roads.
