Case Officer: Jane Dunkin Customer Details ---------------- Name: Steve & Katherine Turner Address: Moonstone The Level Shenington Postcode: OX15 6NA Comments -------- Submission Type: Customer objects to the Planning Application. Comments: Stocking Lane and Shenington, as a whole, is already heavily congested. This application for Equestrian will increase traffic through the village and up Stocking Lane. We have small children that we walk to schoool every day - there are no pavements along Rattlecombe Road or the beginning of Stocking Lane which is a very dangerous intersection and is a regular bottleneck. The village cannot take anymore traffic and the Council should be looking at ways to decrease the amount of traffic coming through the village, NOT increase it. It is well known among villagers that this is a first step to trying to obtain housing development which no-one in the village wants, especially as the infrastructure cannot cope with anymore traffic. One day there will be an accident if planning for more houses or otherwise (i.e. Equestrian...bringing with it horse boxes, 4x4s etc etc) is granted. The junction of Stocking Lane onto Rattlecombe Road is a very narrow aperture and unless something is done, it would be foolish to allow anymore developments to go on in Stocking Lane.
