Comments were submitted at 15/02/2008 14:40:18 Application Summary ------------------- Application Number: 08/00119/F Address: OS Parcel 9078, 9975 And 7986 Stocking Lane Shenington Oxfordshire Proposal: Change of use of land from Agricultural to Equestrian use. Case Officer: Jane Dunkin Customer Details ---------------- Name: Mr & Mrs A M Rockett Address: Pound Cottage Mill Lane Shenington Postcode: OX15 6NB Comments -------- Submission Type: Customer objects to the Planning Application. Comments: We have not received a written Notification of this application from the Council, despite the fact that our house overlooks the application site and is in closer proximity to it than a number of properties that have been formally notified, as part of the consulattion process. We therefore trust that our Objection will be considered. It is clear that this Change of Use of the land would drastically affect the character and amenity of this part of the village. The village has only one road in and one road out and this development with its inevitable visual clutter, would be clearly visible on approach from the west, the land standing higher than the road. As the Applicants neither farm nor ride, we can only assume that this will be a commercial operation. To be viable therefore, it will have to operate at a level that will generate a significant number of traffic movements of both cars and more importantly, HGV's through the village. The two roads into the village are not of a standard to accommodate this, particularly the one from the east, through Alkerton. Only a few days ago two commercial vehicles collided head on at the blind bend on the bridge over Sor Brook. No doubt OCC Highways will advise on this. PublicAccess for Planning.
