You have received this message because you are the Case Officer for this application or because this is a designated mailbox for PublicAccess comments submissions. Comments were submitted at 26/01/2009 13:57:40 Application Summary ------------------- Application Number: 08/02587/F Address: 3A And 3B Cotefield Farm Oxford Road Bodicote Banbury Oxfordshire OX15 4AQ Proposal: Change of use for mixed use, storage, business and retail use to include sale of goods by auction Case Officer: Graham Wyatt Customer Details ---------------- Name: Simon Pepper Address: The House, The Green, Great Bourton, Oxon Postcode: OX17 1QH Comments -------- Submission Type: Customer wishes to comment on the Planning Application. Comments: My comments in full support of the application: 1. A much wider variety of goods can be accomodated for sale as there woulod be space to display and store them, thereby reducing the need to send items to landfill, which helps to boost Cherwell's proud re-cycling reputation. 2. There is ample safe, off-road loading and unloading facilities. 3. Recycling, Many items of bulky nature and low value not taken by other Auction Houses (or even J&S at Bicester) will be able to be sold 4. The site at Cotefield Farm is easily accessible by road, train or bus and even bicycle, therefore the Auction does not interfere with the already congested town centre. 5. The carbon footprint will be greatly reduced as staff will not have to drive to and from Bicester every day, or goods transported from Cotefield Farm site storage, which can sometimes be up to 10 vans loads per week. On average, travel, by staff and transport would be reduced by approx 25,000 miles per year. 6. No detrimental impact on the surrounding area and there will be no visual change on the site. The barns used for storage were there before the site was previuosly taken on. 7. The site at Cotefield Farm has been a popular venue for the four plus years of trading there and a large local following of both buyers and sellers has built up whilst trading in Oxfordshire for over 13 years. 8. The applicants have spent the past year intensively searching for an alternative location and have not been able to identyify a site that offers all of the necessities of Cotefield Farm within the town or edge of town criteria that Cherwell DC previuosly suggested. I whole-heartedly support the applicants in their quest to secure this site as I'm sure entirety of thier clients and visitors do whether they have ben able to write or not.
