Comments were submitted at 30/01/2009 13:47:12 Application Summary ------------------- Application Number: 08/02587/F Address: 3A And 3B Cotefield Farm Oxford Road Bodicote Banbury Oxfordshire OX15 4AQ Proposal: Change of use for mixed use, storage, business and retail use to include sale of goods by auction Case Officer: Graham Wyatt Customer Details ---------------- Name: Veronica Hammond Address: Cotefield Farmhouse, Oxford Road, Bodicote, Postcode: OX15 4AQ Comments -------- Submission Type: Customer does not object to the Planning Application. Comments: Firstly,I must declare an interest in this company,I am employed by them. I know that if this company does not get planning persmission to return to Cotefield Farm,it will close down with the loss of my own and other's jobs. The chances of me getting any other job in the present financial climate,my age (withheld) and my medical problems are zero! I have worked with J.S.Auctions since it first started, nearly 15 years ago and while in Bicester, have worked 7 days a week, where it was neccessary to turn over the vast quantities of items coming through our doors, from house clearances to individual items. Auctions cannot be regarded as "retail",all sold lots are invoiced to the customer, who has to register their details before the sale starts. One cannot just walk in and buy an item,as in a shop, items are not priced, they sell to the highest, registered bidder. I am continually being asked when out and about,as when in the office,"when are you coming back to Cotefield,we miss you".Needless to say, many of our local buyers and sellers have found it too difficult to attend sales in the cramped conditions at Bicester on a regular basis. I implore you to put this case before the planning committee for a complete discussion and would gladly accept permission for a limited number of sales per year,i.e.30,which should satisfy everyone. We run a small friendly business which helps local people to furnish their homes at reasonable prices with goods that may very well otherwise end up in landfill sites and we help to keep local antique dealers supplied with stock. We have the space at Cotefield to store and display such a wide variety of goods that would be impossible, for many reasons, for other auction houses to do so. Please consider this case very carefully, preferably at a planning committee meeting where the pros and cons can be fully discussed. Yours Hopefully, Veronica Hammond PublicAccess for Planning.
