Comments: Dear Sirs, I wish to strongly support this application. I have attended JS auctions regularly for a number of years and often came to auctions when they were previously held at Cotefield Farm. I either came by the 59 bus (Oxford to Banbury) or by train from Oxford to Banbury and then a local bus to Bodicote. The site has ample space and plenty of parking for vehicles- useful bearing in mind the size of many of the items in a typical auction. The auction also serves a useful service to the community in terms of house clearance and recycling of goods- a proportion of which would no doubt otherwise end up in one of the landfill sites. I have heard it mentioned that some people would prefer the auctions be held in Banbury itself. Banbury is a busy place on a Saturday and I doubt many people would appreciate a couple of hundred vehicles descending on the town centre and lots of loading of vehicles. This would certainly not make my journey much easier. In view of Cherwell Council's good record in recycling, I would hope they would support this firm who do help reduce waste in the local community. At this time of poor economic outlook, firms like JS Auctions should be supported and encouraged and it must not be forgotten that they employ a number of local people. For the reasons mentioned above, I strongly support this planning application. Yours faithfully, Dr Paul Christie PublicAccess for Planning. (c) CAPS Solutions Ltd.
