You have received this message because you are the Case Officer for this application or because this is a designated mailbox for PublicAccess comments submissions. Comments were submitted at 05/02/2009 14:55:08 Application Summary ------------------- Application Number: 08/02587/F Address: 3A And 3B Cotefield Farm Oxford Road Bodicote Banbury Oxfordshire OX15 4AQ Proposal: Change of use for mixed use, storage, business and retail use to include sale of goods by auction Case Officer: Graham Wyatt Customer Details ---------------- Name: HA PATERSON Address: Nether Cottage Somerton Road North Aston Oxon Postcode: OX25 6HX Comments -------- Submission Type: Customer wishes to comment on the Planning Application. Comments: I wish to offer my unreserved support for this appication for the following reasons: 1. The site offers all the advantages for an auction room without all the disadvantages of being in a town centre. 2. There would be less traffic in the town and also less journeys by both JS Auctions and many of its customers because suitable storage and loading facilities are available at the site. 3. It would mean employment would be secured for local Banbury people again. 4. Common sense and the will of the local people would prevail; previously rejected applications were NEVER objected to by local people, ONLY by the Planning Department which is supposed to represent its local community. More listening and less directives please. 5. JS Auctions are able to take a much wider variety of goods for sale as they have the space to display and store them, thereby reducing the need to send items to landfill, which helps to boost Cherwell's proud re-cycling reputation. 6. Recycling, Many items of bulky nature and low value not taken by other Auction Houses and will be able to be sold; indeed sometimes other auction houses send such items to JS Auctions rather than landfill. 7. The site at Cotefield Farm is easily accessible by road, train or bus and some people even travel by bicycle, therefore the Auction does not interfere with the already congested Banbury town centre. 8.The carbon footprint will be greatly reduced as staff will not have to drive to and from Bicester every day, or goods transported from our Cotefield Farm site storage, which can sometimes be up to 10 vans loads per week. On average, travel, by staff and transport would be reduced by approx 25'000 miles per year. 9. There would be no detrimental impact on the surrounding area and there will be no visual change on the site. The barns used for storage were there before JS Auctions took on the site and, in fact, they already occupy 75% of the area for their stores. 10. I would like to request that the Planning Department give plenty of notice of the date of any consultation meeting so that I may attend. PublicAccess for Planning. (c) CAPS Solutions Ltd.
