Comments: I strongly object to this proposal mainly on the grounds of the Green Belt. Whilst I understand that it will be neccessary in 'exceptional' circumstances to utilise the Green Belt, in this case I feel the options have not been fully explored. The existing approved planning application that provides access to the A44 behind Yarnton Nurseries also infringes Green Belt. However, this option offers a minimum impact to the Green Belt by ensuring the road is to the very edge of the Green Belt area. The issues with the left in left out junction could be addressed and reviewed to provide a junction similar to this application. This application however, is a blatant disregard to the Green Belt. To construct a road slap bang through the middle of a Green Belt area is nothing short of staggering, especially when other less invasive options are available. Should this current application be agreed this would set a precedent for the District Council to deal with and the whole foundation of Green Belt would be in jeopardy. The other point with this application is the junction with the A44. I am very concerned that traffic would use the slip road next to the Jet Garage to avoid the new junction resulting in this developing into a 'rat run'. This road is often used by children and parents on the walk to and from school and traffic avoiding the new junction would present a seriously hazardous situation. I sincerely hope that the Council address this catastrophic disregard to Green Belt on this proposal and review existing approved plans that offer minimal impact on the surrounding area.
